When someone in Cypress, Jersey Village or anywhere in Houston searches for a service, or asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, the results draw on the same basics: can your business be found, is the information consistent, and do your pages clearly answer the question? These seven fixes cover most of what we see on local business sites.
1. Claim and complete your Google Business Profile
For local searches, your Business Profile often appears before your website. Use your real business name, the right category, your service area, hours, phone and website link, and add real photos. Keep it current when anything changes.
2. Make your name, address and phone match everywhere
Your website, Business Profile, social profiles and directories should list the same name, address (or service area) and phone number. Inconsistent details make it harder for search engines and assistants to be sure they are all the same business.
3. Give every service its own page
One page that lists ten services rarely ranks for any of them. A separate page per service, explaining what it includes, who it is for, the area you serve and common questions, gives each search a clear match.
4. Mention where you work, naturally
Say where you are based and which areas you serve in plain words, on your homepage and service pages. Avoid stuffing lists of city names; write it the way you would tell a customer.
5. Answer the questions people actually ask
Collect the questions from calls and emails, and answer them on the relevant page: prices or how they are set, timelines, what happens first. Clear, direct answers are what both search results and AI assistants quote.
6. Fix the technical basics
Pages should load quickly on a phone, every page should have a unique title and description, and your sitemap should be submitted in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Bing matters more than people think, because several AI assistants rely on its index.
7. Ask happy customers for reviews
Reviews on your Business Profile help people choose you and show that the business is active. Ask after a finished job, make it easy with a direct link, and reply to reviews, including the critical ones.
What about AI search?
Google's guidance is that its AI features are built on the same foundations as regular search, and that no special markup is required (Google's guide). In practice, the fixes above are what help an assistant describe your business correctly: consistent facts, clear service pages and real answers.
